• Cats rarely drink enough water, that is why a moisture rich diet is so important. Water fountains may help entice your cat to drink. Wet food is a must have for all cats! We add a small amount of purified water to their wet food for extra moisture.

• Most cats are lactose intolerant. 

• Cats do not like their food and water to be next to one another. 

• Common food allergies in cats are: Chicken, beef, fish, dairy products.

• Too much fish could be bad for cats and can contribute to several health issues.

• Pre and probiotics are one of the most important things you can add to your cats diet. They can improve digestions and nutrient absorption, boost the immune system and improve gut health by introducing healthy gut bacteria.

• Plastic food/water dishes can cause feline acne. Stainless steel, ceramic or glass is recommended. 

• Rotational feeding can reduce pickiness. Feeding 3-5 proteins is ideal.

• Taurine is an essential amino acid. It is critical for heart muscle function, vision, maintaining a healthy immune system and aid in healthy digestion. Taurine is water soluble, this means that whatever your cats body doesn’t need, is expelled in their urine.  

• Cats are extremely sensitive to toxicity, it can range from mild to fatal. Eliminating toxins is crucial to ensure your cat lives a long and healthy live. Common toxins may include but are not limited to: Chocolate, caffeine, onions, garlic, grapes, raisins, household cleaners, ant traps, human medication, some essential oils and certain plants/flowers. Always research plants/flowers before bringing them into your home, even if a small amount is ingested it could be fatal.

• Cats should never eat corn.

• Oral hygiene is important for all cats, no matter how young, or how old they are. There are several products on the market to satisfy even the pickiest of cats. Various brushes, flavours and water additives. Make teeth brushing a positive experience to ensure success.
